Patrick M. Green
(padraig)
Patrick’s family were orange growers in Southern California and during his early years Patrick lived and played in the orange groves and surrounding hills which were filled with birds and bugs and all that was nature. Springtime brought out the orange blossoms, which filled his being with a sweet perfume. Many great adventures were had in this extraordinary playground and these beautiful memories influence his art to this day.
Patrick’s Grandmother was very into Nature, birds, trees and even rocks. She loved the Nature that surrounded her. Grandma Sally opened her young grandson's eyes to the beauty around him and, she also introduced him to wildlife paintings. Together they started a nature stamp collection, which I have no doubt started his path into the world of illustrative art.
At the young age of five, Patrick began to draw. He was now in Military School and being the youngest boy in the school, he drew what the older kids drew... airplanes and ships,
Patrick graduated from The University of California with a BFA in Studio art, also excelling in Math and History which are a big part of what makes Patrick.
While he has worked for many years in commercial art and Illustration, his heart is still drawn to the Nature Paintings that held his youthful fascinations.
